To extend the lifespan of your mechanical ventilation system, ask an installer to carry out thorough maintenance. You will therefore have to call in a specialist company to clean the ventilation ducts and the ventilation box. But the good news is: you will find that thoroughly cleaning the mechanical ventilation will ensure that your system works much better!

Make sure that you put the valves back in the right place. The valves are set differently in height. As a result, the mechanical ventilation box extracts exactly the required amount of air for the room in question. The installer can mark the valves for you when adjusting your ventilation system.

It is best to clean the window grilles in a mechanical ventilation system with, for example, a vacuum cleaner and/or a brush. Because you clean the grill dry, no extra dirt will stick. If you can remove the cover from the window grille, you can clean it with soapy water and then dry it. Clean the grilles both on the inside and outside.
A mechanical ventilation system has a long lifespan. At least 15 years, but usually much longer. The ventilation box must be replaced when it no longer works (properly) or when it no longer meets your needs. New ventilation boxes are quieter and more energy efficient.
